What is Data Backup?

Data Backup is a process or technique that involves saving a copy of the original data. This helps the user to retrieve the data when there is a data loss. There are different types of data backup options available to help organizations secure their confidential data:

However, the disadvantage of this type of backup is that the restoration of each backup is processed separately which is time-consuming when compared to the full backup.

Differential Data Backup
Differential data backup helps to back up the files that have been changed since the last full backup process. Though it is almost similar to the incremental data backup, however, the differential data backup takes minimum time for storing the data.
However, the disadvantage is that the differential data backup might require a scalable storage system as the data backup can grow larger than the actual full backup version.

Mirror Data Backup
Mirror data backup is almost the same as a full backup process – however, the only difference is that the files that are backed up are not zip compressed. Mirror data backup is protected with passwords where users can gain access to tools like Windows Explorer. The major advantage of mirror backups is that the backup and restore time can be done quickly. However, this option may tend to occupy more space on the servers.
